The Disciple You Never Knew

The word disciples mean people who have made up their minds to go all the way with a leader - example, Jesus. The work of disciples is meant for people who after desiring to grow up into their leader in all things also find it worthy to come into the fullness of His stature. This article focuses on who a Disciple of Jesus Christ is. To be able to understand who a disciple is, I want to begin by saying that every believer in Jesus Christ is called into His discipleship, as long as he/she must be part of the glory to be revealed. The Lord's desire is to see you become a disciple in every sense and then climb up unto the mount where eternal principles are freely shared. In other words, there is the disciple that you never knew who is still a stranger to the work of salvation. That disciple may be you. If you are yet to be BORN AGAIN, you have not been enlisted into the comity of disciples - that is, you have not been in the mutual recognition among disciples of Jesus. The Bible says that except that a man is born of water (the word of God) and the Spirit, he has no potential to become like Jesus. A lizard cannot grow up to become a crocodile; neither can a goat grow to become a cow, no matter the feeding, training and exposures. Even if all the disciples of discipleship are applied, a sinner cannot develop by training, to become a saint. He has to be born again. Are you born again? If not, you have no ticket to get on board of Christ's discipleship. There is need for you also to have an intimate relationship and deep commitment to the Lord, if His Word would not always appear to you in parables. He seeks to make you the best that you can ever be. A disciple is an heir of God in training under tutors and governors, until the time appointed when he will be matured enough to possess his possessions. A disciple is a person with a singular focus, under one matter. He possesses a single eye; lives a singular (not a double) life, and not an inter-mix of the natural and the spiritual. He is not someone with a mind for Christ and a mind for the world, at the same time. He has a clear testimony of deliverance from sin. Every personal and selfish ambition is gone. Are you a disciple? A disciple is a learner who has voluntarily conceded the pedagogical authority to the teacher. He is a person who has come to accept the wisdom of the teacher as the only one good for his own life. He is not choosy. He does not mind whatever means the master uses to hammer him into the desired shape. The Lord could use his wife, her husband, house maids, servants, friends, situations and circumstances, even the devil, etc., to sharpen his life. He is one that loves his master. He does not see the master's authority and molding hand over him as oppression. He is loyal, submissive and committed to him. He is zealous for his master's honour and interest at all cost. There is need for each and every one of us to have an intimate relationship and deep commitment to the Lord, if His word would not always appear to you in parables. He seeks to make you the best that you can never be! Are you then a disciple of Christ? In case, you are not and would like to become one today, say the following prayer with me: "Dear Lord Jesus, I receive You as my Lord and Saviour. I open the door of my heart to You, and ask You to come in and live in me. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. I am sorry for my sins and truly repent. By Your help and by Your Spirit, I will seek to live a life which is pleasing to You. Amen". The Bible says that if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and if you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, then you will be saved (Romans 10:9). So, if you have said the above prayer with all your heart believing what the Bible said about Jesus, then it's time to rejoice, because Jesus has stepped into your life! Go now, and tell someone that you have received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Then, help yourself by walking into a good Church and let the brethren know about your decision. You'll never regret you did! Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/4792680
